You are a mermaid

Dear Doc, the poem below is dedicated to my daughter.

You are a mermaid

You are a mermaid, you are part of the sea,

Your beauty is surreal and cannot be possessed.

You rise from the waves and you are near me,

But I have to let you go, for you to swim free.

You are a mermaid from some other world,

In your closeness my happiness stays alive.

Through oceans and seas your words are told

In my heart I keep you and l am never cold.

You are a mermaid, your hair moves with the tide

And your beautiful soul is like the nicest sea foam.

As long as you are my safest and most precious guide

Every ocean, every sea I’ll keep happily on my side.
