I cannot have the world

The years of my life pass,

I have already climbed most of my mountains.

The world I wanted to see has shrunk,

Now I enjoy watching the nearby fountains.

So many beautiful places I will never visit,

I now like to stay at home when it is cold.

So many rivers, cities, lakes, and undiscovered seas,

Life is short, and I realised, I cannot have the world.

Walking down familiar street brings me joy,

Although in my dreams, I can still travel a long distance.

Staying on the known road feels warm and comfortable,

Aging has brought me peace; years have numbed my persistence.
